Arjan's father died while the actor was shooting for "Summer of 2007". Just four days after his father's death, he received a call from Bhandarkar's office.
"I should have been the happiest person in the world, but I was not happy at all simply because I thought that I don't have my dad to share my happiness, " said Arjan.
"I look up to my dad for anything I achieve in my life; I had this habit of sharing every detail of my life with him. He was more like a buddy to me, " he added.
Arjan made his debut with "Woh Tera Naam Tha" and then featured as Arzan Contractor in Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai-starrer "Guru" apart from a role in "Summer of 2007".
"I have been trying my luck in Bollywood for a couple of years. When I signed Mani Ratnam's 'Guru', it was a joyous moment for me, " he said.
His father was a Delhi-based politician and wanted his son to enter politics, but Arjan had other plans.
He says: "I wanted to establish myself as an actor. I know that I can perform much better than many out there in this industry and my father wanted to see me as a hero."
"I can never let my dad's dream die; earlier it was just a struggle for survival, now it's a matter of my dad's pride. I need to give it my best shot, " he said.
